"Greenie," The Green Chicken, staying in Bronfman for at least another year

"Greenie," The Green Chicken will be extending its stay in the Bronfman Science Center in the Math Department after Professor Stevne Miller and his Eph math all-stars defeated Middelbury in annual Green Chicken Math Contest.

Williams won the 2010 competition by downing Middlebury 191-140.

The ceramic green chicken soup tureen or cookie jar, whichever you prefer is the prize in the annual math contest between Williams and Middelbury.

In the early years of the competition Greenie would be presented to the winning team at halftime of the annual football contest, but a change in both the academic calendar and the NESCAC football schedule has disrupted that tradition.

Today the Eph team was led by top scorers Carlos Dominguez, Wei Sun, David Thompson and Liyang Zhang.

Williams leads the all-time series that began in 1978 23-10-1.

Greenie will reside in the Williams Math Department in the Bronfman
Science
Center for at least the next year based on today's results.
