When Brendan Conley, senior co-captain of the Ephs was a first year he participated on the last Williams team that played in the NCAA Tournament in 2005, now he will play on the next Williams team to compete for the NCAA title.

Rick Pohle's Williams College men's golf team owns a 12-shot lead after day one of the two-day, 36-hole NESCAC Golf Championship Tournament being played at Shuttle Creek Meadow. Williams recorded a team score of 291 followed by Middlebury (303), Hamilton (306) and host Trinity (316).

Ephs capture 11th consecutive Little Three title at Taconic Golf Club

For the 11th year in a row, the Williams men's golf team captured the Little Three golf championship. Williams defeated Wesleyan 11 ½- ½ and downed Amherst 11-1. Amherst finished second by defeating Wesleyan 7-5.

Ephs tie for 2nd at Skidmore Fall Classic

The 12th-ranked Skidmore College golf team shot 306 to win the four-team Skidmore Fall Invitational played Wednesday at Saratoga National Country Club. Williams and Clarkson tied for second with 330, and Mass College of the Liberal Arts fourth with 375.

The Williams College men's golf team moved up one spot at the NESCAC Qualifier to finsih third and secured a spot in the NESCAC Championship event next April to determine the conference's representative in the NCAA Championships.

Rick Pohle's Williams men's golf team took top honors in the Castleton State (VT) Spartan Invitational this afternoon at the Rutland Country Club on the strength of 76s by junior Tylar Zara and first years Bob Camp and Drew Murray. The Ephs won with a score of 306.

Skidmore College opened up a 12 shot lead on the field in the 19-team Williams Invitational today at Taconic Golf Club with two players tied for the best round of the day -- Tobin Spector and and Sam Dasilva (72) and Chris Dejohn tied for third (73).

2007 Season Outlook

Rick Pohle's Ephs are on a mission to end the program's two-year drought of not competing in the NCAA Tournament. The Ephs last competed in the 2005 NCAA Tourney and the goal now is to do whatever is necessary to secure the bid to the 2008 NCAA Tourney, which would be the Ephs'10th appearance under Pohle.
