Junior Matt Masucci (Winthrop, Mass.) scored a short-handed goal at 8:49 of the third period to lift the visiting Williams College men's ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over host Babson College in an ECAC East/NESCAC matchup at the Babson Skating Center on Friday night. With the victory, the Ephs, ranked sixth in the nation by U.S. College Hockey Online, improved to 13-4-3 overall and 11-4-1 in the NESCAC. The Beavers, meanwhile, saw their seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end as they fell to 12-8-2 overall and 9-6-1 in the ECAC East.

The Williams College men's hockey team fell into a three-way tie for first place in the NESCAC, losing 4-2 to rival #9 Middlebury. Williams jumped out to a 2-0 lead, dominating much of the first period, but gave up three quick goals midway through the second period that proved to be the difference. The Ephs fought hard for the tying goal late in the game, but came up just short as the Panthers scored on an empy net goal with less than a minute left to seal the victory.

Ephs Win Fourth Straight in Huge 2-1 Win Over #2 Norwich
There are no undefeated teams left in division 3 mens hockey. The Williams College mens ice hockey team bested the only remaining undefeated team in the country, #2 Norwich, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Senior captain Alex Smigelski scored with just under ten minutes left in the game to give the Ephs their second lead of the game, and Williams hung on down the stretch for the victory. Sophomore goalie Ryan Purdy had an unbelievable game, shutting the door on one of the top offensive teams in the country while turning aside 48 shots.

Williams used a trio of late goals to break a scoreless tie and come away with a 3-0 win over NESCAC foe Colby. Junior Ryan Young deflected a Evan Dugdale pass into the net with two and a half minutes left to score a goal that would prove to be the game winner. Sophomore Ryan Purdy played stellar in net, turning away all 31 of the Mules shots for his first shutout of the season.

Ephs notch three third period scores, defeat New England College 4-2
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass - The Williams College mens hockey team tallied three scores in the final period en route to defeating New England College 4-2 Friday. The win comes after the Ephs suffered a decisive defeat against Bowdoin last weekend, and improves their record to 8-4-2 (6-2-2 Conference). The Pilgrims, who just two weeks ago were sitting at the top of the conference with a 9-2 record, have now lost three of their last four and fall to 10-5.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College mens hockey team got four goals from four separate Ephs en route to a 4-0 victory over conference foe Skidmore Friday. The win makes it three out of four for the Ephs, and propels them to 6-3 (2-0 NESCAC) on the year. The Thoroughbreds (6-4) came in having won seven of their last eight games and boasted victories over Colby, Bowdoin, and Castelton in that stretch.
