Eric Watson '97 helps U.S. Women's Soccer U 23 National Team win Nordic Cup

Former Eph goalie and assistant men's soccer coach Eric Watson
'97 helped the U.S. Under 23 Women's National Soccer Team capture
the prestigious Nordic Cup Tournament in Borlange, Sweden at the
end of July.
The U.S. won all four games in the Nordic Cup via shutout. The
U.S. opened with a 1-0 win over Switzerland and then blanked
England 3-0 and Norway 2-0 to advance to the championship game vs.
Germany.
The U.S. took the title with a convincing 3-0 win over Germany.

Watson's collegiate coaching career began at Williams where he
assisted Eph soccer coaching legend Mike Russo from 1998-2000,
before moving on to the University of Richmond for two years. While
assisting the Richmond Spiders Watson also earned a master's degree
in sports leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
From Richmond Watson headed to the West coast where he served as
the head coach of men's and women's soccer for Linfield University
(OR) for five years before heading back East.
Watson is entering his second season as the head coach of the SUNY
New Paltz men's soccer team this fall.
