HADLEY, MA -- Williams junior John Armstrong (Gladwyne, PA) helped lead the Ephs to a 192-100 win over conference foe Connecticut College this past Saturday in the Ephs' Samuelson-Muir Pool.
Armstrong won both of the long-distance freestyle events during the dual meet against the Camels, winning the 500-yard freestyle in 4:47.44, while his 1,000-yard freestyle performance was the best so far this season at 9:44.56.
In both races Armstrong was tested by Connecticut College frosh Max Fabian. "In both of those races John showed what a great racer he is," noted Eph head coach Steve Kuster. "He's game for racing anyone at anytime and he has a lot of confidence in his racing instincts."
The Ephs (3-1) are taking a break from competition to complete their final exams and the holiday season having concluded the 2011 portion of their schedule. Kuster's Ephs will face archrival Amherst in their first meet of the 2012 calendar year when they travel to Amherst on January 7th.
