Ephs dominate Connecticut College, 9-0

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. – Men’s tennis (12-1, 4-0) can add another tally to their win column as Williams dominated Connecticut College, 9-0. The Ephs continue their hot streak through conference play, having won their first four conference contests this spring season.
The Ephs set the tone in their doubles play, as Jeremy Weinberger and Ari Binder sent a formidable message to the opposition at court three in an 8-0 shutout. Dominance continued in singles play as all six Williams players won in straight sets.
Karol Furmaga notched his second straight 6-0, 6-0 win, while some new faces in the lineup impressed at courts five and six. Sophomores Ben Davidson and Ben Kelley rolled to 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0 victories respectively.
With two 9-0 shutouts in as many days this weekend, the Ephs seem on top of their game and know that it is critical to not allow their mental toughness to slip.
“It’s very important that we [Williams] stay focused,” commented Williams head coach Dave Donn. “We are working on trying to get a little better everyday, and not get complacent.”
The Ephs will get their first taste of NESCAC action away from the Purple Valley when they travel to play a tough Trinity squad on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
