Ephs Shine at Middlebury Invitational

Middlebury, Vermont- The Ephs shined in their first true test of the season. An impressive half of the Williams entrants reached the finals of their brackets, with Will Petrie and the team of Karol Furmaga and Rick Devlin bringing home titles.
The Middlebury invitational was divided into four singles flights (A, B, C, D) and two doubles flights (A, B). Two Eph entrants were placed in each of the flights.

Rick Devlin reached the finals of the B singles eventually losing a heart breaker to Amrit Rupasinghe of Bates (6-0, 7-5). Other notable performances were Ari Binder and Bret Thatcher reaching the semi finals of the D singles and Karol Furmaga working his way into the semi finals of the B singles.

Karol Furmaga and Rick Devlin teamed up to defeat fellow Ephs Will Petri and Ari Binder in the hard fought championship match of the B doubles, while Jeremy Weinberger and Kevin Shallcross reached the finals of the A doubles losing an extremely competitive match (8-6).
With the Middlebury Invitational over, the Ephs must focus on their first home tournament of the year, the ITA Tournament this Friday and Saturday(9/26-9/27).
