Bozeman, Montana – The NCAA Skiing Championships concluded
today with the Alpine slalom races. Eph skiers finished in 14th
place with a team score of 223. University of Denver won the
Championships with a team score of 649.5.
In the women’s slalom race, Eph skier Jennah Durham,
sophomore, placed 22nd with a first run time of 48.33 and a second
run time of 45.77. Sophomore Emily Porter placed 28th with a first
run time of 48.60 and a second run time of 47.78.
On the men’s side, Alpine team captain Charles Christianson,
senior, placed fourth with a first run time of 51.65 and a second
run time of 51.51. Christianson earned All-America honors for the
fourth time in his career with his top five finish. Junior Eric
Mann placed 23rd in the slalom races with a first run time of 54.80
and a second run time of 54.17. Alex Dyroff, sophomore, was
disqualified from the slalom competition, finishing the first run
with a time of 53.99.
The Ephs have finished in 15th place in the NCAA Skiing
Championships for the last two years; the last time they finished
in 14th place was in 2005.
