After a solid weekend of play against conference opponents Wesleyan and Connecticut College, in which the Ephs (7-12) picked up two much-needed victories to even their conference record, the team suffered another crushing defeat at the hands of non-conference foe Western Connecticut (15-3), 68-48.

Williams womens basketball (7-11, 2-2) capped off a positive weekend of play with their second consecutive win, finishing off Connecticut College, 91-81, following last nights victory over a solid Wesleyan squad.

Williams finally broke their losing skid for their first win in six games through a fiery defensive effort in the first half, and a calm finish under pressure in the final five minutes of a 75-68 victory.

Womens basketball dropped their fifth straight contest and second game in as many days in a tough stretch on the road. Once again, a more solid second period could not erase the shoddy play of the earlier frame, and the Ephs lost their second NESCAC game, 90-67.

Wesleyan routs Ephs, 86-45
Womens basketball (5-9) dropped their third straight contest, and ninth of the season, against Little Three foe Wesleyan (7-4) tonight, 86-45. The 41-point margin was the largest of any game between the two schools since 1940.

Ephs second half woes continue, fall to #7 Amherst, 76-46
An inspiring defensive effort from the Ephs (6-7) in the first half saw the home team trail the seventh-ranked Amherst Lord Jeffs (12-0, by only three at the break, 25-22. It took just five minutes after the second-half whistle for the Lord Jeffs to mount a twenty-point advantage. The Ephs could not recover, falling to Amherst, 76-46.

The Ephs just wish it didnt come with a loss.
Williams dropped its third straight game as the host Pride outscored them 8-3 over the final three and a half minutes to pull off a 73-68 victory.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA The Middlebury Panthers (3-2) finished the Williams Tip-Off Classic 2-0 on Sunday with a come-from-behind victory over Springfield (2-2). The Panthers mounted a late rally to overtake the Pride by a score of 61-58.

Tonight Williams (2-1) lost to Middlebury (2-2) because of their lack of consistent pressure on the ball. Ultimately, the Ephs' failure to play on both sides of the ball cost them the win as their conference foe secured an 86-75 victory.

Starting three freshman and a sophomore, the Ephs (1-0) youth was evident in the first frame but a solid defensive effort and timely three-point shooting in the second half brought home a 67-55 win over Skidmore College (0-1).
