Claire Baecher named NESCAC, NEWBA Player of the Week

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Williams College senior Claire Baecher (Brunswick, Me.) has been named the Player of the Week by both the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) for play ending Sunday, February 10th.

In her only game of the week, Baecher led the Ephs to a 71-51 victory over previously unbeaten and No. 3 ranked Amherst College on Sunday.  Baecher scored 30 points on 8-for-15 shooting, connected on 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down eight rebounds, and blocked two shots as Williams moved into a three way tie for first place in the NESCAC.

Baecher leads the Ephs with her 13.3 points per game average and her 6.8 rebound per game average also paces Williams. She is also tied for the team lead in steals with 27 and one off the team leaders in blocks with 47.
