Ephs Finish Second in Jack Leaman Invitational

South Hadley, MA – Williams Women’s Golf ended the two-day tournament at the Orchards Golf Club only one stroke behind Boston University’s Division I team.
Sophomore Anne O’Leary was the only Eph who had a top ten finish, though no Eph ended outside the top 22. O’Leary tied for seventh with a two-day total of 169, while the other Williams contributions came from Laura Koplik, Melissa Barton, Kait O’Brien and Lauren Anstey.
Amherst first year Hayley Milbourn took home her second individual title of the spring season, helping Amherst to a fifth place tie with Holy Cross College. Other NESCAC rival Middlebury ended tied in third with Mount Holyoke College, 10 strokes behind the second-place Ephs.
Head Coach Fran Vandermeer was proud of her teams efforts this weekend: “All five of our players definitely contributed to our second place finish. I’m thrilled with our team’s depth, which I think will be a strength to our program and will prove to be important in the next few weeks.”
With the Taconic Golf Club open this week, the Ephs will get a chance to practice on their home turf before hosting the two-day Williams Spring Invitational next weekend.
