Elizabeth Burns & Sarah duPont collect IWLCA All-Region honors

Williams College women's lacrosse team senior midfielder Sarah duPont and junior defender Elizabeth Burns have been selected to the 2008 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region teams.

Burns, the Ephs' top defender, led the Ephs in groundballs, draw controls and caused turnovers this season and was named IWLCA First Team All-Region.

duPont fired in 18 goals this season and assisted on eight more and earned IWLCA Second Team All-Region honors.

Williams finished its season 6-8. The Ephs allowed 169 goals over 14 games, or 12.07 each game. Burns was the standout defender, leading team with 42 groundballs, 34 draw controls and 23 caused turnovers during the season. She also scored one goal on the season.

Previously Burns was named First Team All-NESCAC.
