WILLIAMSTOWN – The Ephs took on Mount Holyoke and St. Lawrence today at 12pm and 4pm for their final home matches of the season. In addition, this was the seniors', Courtney Bogle, Carolyn Kaemmer, and Eliana Saltzman, last home match of their college careers, and they were honored during intros.
The Ephs took on Mount Holyoke first. Having just beaten them 5-4 last year at nationals, the women were determined for a better result. Keeping up their momentum from the past few weeks, the Ephs stepped up and pulled out a decisive 8-1 victory.
The bottom three, Caroline Sawin, Eliana Saltzman, and Carolyn Kaemmer, all played dominating squash, each winning in three games. The middle three, Hannah Kaemmer, Ellie O'Neill, and Alyssa Northrop, also played great squash. While Alyssa and Ellie managed to win in three and four games, Hannah fell just short in a tight five games. Finally, taking on very tough opponents, the top three produced three more wins for the Ephs. Laura won in a tough three games, while Alli and Courtney both came back to win in five nail biting games.
The women then went on to challenge St. Lawrence. Although tired from their previous match, they managed to fight through towards a dominating 9-0 victory.
The women's team in happy with their overall performance. They stepped up once again, and continued their positive momentum towards two more impressive wins. They look forward to nationals at Harvard in two weeks.
