Kristin Alotta eliminated from NCAA Singles Tournament by Top Seed

CARY, N.C. — Williams College senior Kristin Alotta was eliminated from the Div. III NCAA Singles Tournament Friday morning when she dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to the tournament's top seed, Lok-Sze Leung from Middlebury, in a quarterfinal match.

A year ago Alotta advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 NCAA Singles Tournament. Earlier this season Alotta recorded her 100th career singles win. She finishes her career with 109 singles wins andher 96 doubles wins, giving her 205 career wins in the Purple Valley.

Recently, Alotta was named the 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Senior Player of the Year Award. Wednesday, she helped guide the Ephs to an NCAA Div. III record fifth straight national championship with a 5-2 win over the University of Chicago.

Alotta was a three-time All-American for singles play.
