Kathleen Elkins: Spanish & Pre-Med

Junior Year:  Member of the 2013 NCAA National Championship Team and 3-time National Team Champion.  NESCAC Conference Champions. Compiled a singles record of 21-0 in the spring campaign at primarily the #2 spot. Compiled a doubles record of 17-8 including 17-4 at #2 with partner Maria Pylypiv ’15. Went undefeated in both singles and doubles in the NCAA Tournament. Finished year ranked #10 in region and #18 nationally in singles; #11 in region in doubles. Studied abroad in Vallencia, Spain fall semester.  All-NESCAC First Team Singles. All-NESCAC First Team Doubles. Carol Simon Sportsmanship Award recipient. All-American in singles.

Sophomore Year:  Member of the 2012 NCAA National Championship Team and 2-Time National Team Champion.  Little Three Champions. Compiled a record of 28-4 at #4 singles including going undefeated in DIII dual match singles play for the second year in a row.  Compiled a 28-6 doubles mark at primarily #2 doubles with partner Kristin Alotta ‘12. Advanced to quarterfinals of ITA Regional singles tournament and competed in doubles.  NEWITT Tournament 2^nd place finish in A Flight with partner Maria Pylypiv ’15. All-NESCAC First Team Doubles.  Undefeated in singles play during the NCAA tournament. Bourne Chaffee Award recipient. ITA All-Academic Team.

Freshman Year: Member of the 2011 NCAA National Championship Team.  NESCAC Conference Champions.  ITA All-Academic Team.  All-NESCAC Second Team Singles.  Compiled a 25-2 singles record at primarily the #4 spot including going undefeated in dual match play and undefeated in the spring season.  Compiled a doubles record of 19-2 primarily with partner Caroline Capute ’12 at the #3 spot. Went undefeated in doubles in NCAA tournament play.  Carol Simon Sportsmanship Award Recipient.

High School: USTA 2007 State Singles Champion & 2008 State Singles Finalist.  USTA 2007 & 2008 State Doubles Champion.  Participated in USTA Southern Cup representing North Carolina in 2008.  Achieved number one raking for singles and doubles in 2007 in North Carolina USTA tennis.

Personal: Daughter of Hugh and Diane.  Older brother Michael attends UNC Chapel Hill and younger brother Davis is currently in high school. Both siblings play(ed) high school tennis.
