General Safety Tips:

  • Be Visible- Wear bright colored or reflective clothing
  • Obey All Traffic Rules
  • Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to return
  • Know your route before you leave your dorm
  • Bring Identification with you
  • Avoid exercising at dusk and dawn- it’s very difficult for cars to see you
  • Try to find wide roads or roads with shoulders
  • Stay hydrated

  • Always run/walk against the flow of traffic
  • If you are wearing headphones, keep the volume low so you are aware of your surroundings
