Recreation

Zealand-Trail The Department of Physical Education and Athletics offers many opportunities for recreation, including fitness classes, intramural sports, and excursions with the Williams Outing Club (WOC).

Additionally, Williams has an active club sport program, including ultimate frisbee, rugby, equestrian, cycling, fencing, volleyball, sailing, water polo, and more. More than 60% of Williams students compete on at least one varsity, junior varsity, or club team.

Williams offers many opportunities for students to earn P.E. credit. In addition to quarterly offerings which include racquet sports, boot camp, yoga, and ice skating, students may also earn P.E. credit from club or JV sports and classes offered by the Dance Department.

Williams’ P.E. requirement includes four credits of physical activity to encourage students to develop lifelong healthy habits.

Faculty and Staff and their families and Williamstown residents and alumni may access facilities using their IDs or affiliate ID cards, or by purchasing a rec pass (residents and alumni only).
